This report is focused on Hazel Puree who is the manager of the Student Services Trust at Massey University. Hazel’s task includes looking after budget adviser, the building, gym, web centre, radio station, museum, and coffee bar. Normally she will do a speech to direct staff and hold a meeting with other managers once a month. In conclusion, according to an investigation of leadership and management practice in relation to goal setting and planning in organizations today, these findings above are providing three major views for this report, which are the summary of manager’s role, approach to leading/leadership style, and approach to goal setting and planning in the workplace. Furthermore, from her experiences, the manager said that the role of a manager is diversity; culture, motivation, and communication are important parts of leadership style; goals and plans must be effective. |
